Davy Jones was one of my role models growing up. I would spend my mornings when I was little watching old reruns of ‘The Monkees’, and my dad would sing me their songs all the time.
I was lucky enough to have met him a few times, once when I was little, my dad and mom took me to see him at a local state fair, where he was performing with the Herman’s Hermits, and I met him and got a picture with him. I also met him again back in 2008 when he came to my local state fair. Davy Jones was one of those musicians whose voice could make you melt on sight no matter what age he was.
A true music man. He will be sadly missed, and my condolences go out to his family and friends.
